I grew up sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. On a good day, I can get a boat up to its “hull speed.” That’s where the wind is strong, the sails are set just right and the boat is ripping through the water. Vibrations from the keel resonate up through the mast and the boat literally sings to you.
Hull speed is an unmistakable confirmation that in this exact moment you, your craft, and your environment are in perfect harmony. It’s a testament to the power of partnership- and a good model for what “flow” looks like in my work.
